Meet the Founder

Often companies have Health and Safety concerns within their organization, but can't justify hiring a full-time Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) professional. That's why I created TCA Safety & Compliance Consulting, L.P. — to make expert EHS consulting available to companies that have had an OSHA inspection, need help developing an EHS management system, or want a third-party review of their current policies, standards, and procedures.

TCA Safety & Compliance Consulting L.P. was founded by Keith Benton, a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and Registered Environmental Health Specialist (REHS) with over 30 years of Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) leadership experience across the energy, construction, government, and public health sectors.

He began his career as a U.S. Navy Environmental Health Officer (EHO) and Plans, Operations & Medical Intelligence Officer (POMI), responsible for Environmental Health and Preventive Medicine programs supporting Navy and Marine Corps operational forces.

After the U.S. Navy, he worked as an International Health, Safety, and Environmental Specialist for an oil & gas drilling company, supporting projects across the U.S. (domestic and offshore), Africa, and Latin America. He then transitioned to BP America Production Company, progressing through EHS Manager and Crisis Management roles over nearly a decade — including serving as Unified Area Command Safety Officer (FEMA Type I) during the Deepwater Horizon oil spill response in 2010.

He later served as Health, Safety and Environment Director for a national restoration, construction, and emergency response company, building an EHS team of three Division Managers and over 20 EHS coordinators, and directing safety operations for man-made and natural disaster response deployments across the country.

Today, he applies that same expertise leading EHS programs across a major public university system, while continuing to run TCA Safety & Compliance Consulting L.P. for clients who need hands-on, executive-level EHS expertise without the cost of a full-time hire.
